Professional Dog Training for Aggression
We’ll work to identify the root of your dog’s aggression and help them learn to overcome these behavioral challenges.
When your dog exhibits aggressive behavior — biting, growling, lunging, baring teeth, etc. — it can be quite confusing and even a little scary. However, aggression in dogs is often born out of fear. So, if it’s scary for you, it’s likely also scary for your dog.
While aggression might be learned, genetic, or engrained in a dog’s nature, it is often rooted in anxiety. Most dogs who feel scared, cornered, or threatened often have an immediate, strong, and instinctual response that forces them to choose between fight for flight. They will usually try to avoid sources of anxiety by trying to retreat. However, when a dog feels that escape is not an option, they might become aggressive. For some dogs — particularly those with an overinflated sense of confidence or dominance within the pack — aggression can become their go-to reaction, potentially even in situations where there is no actual threat to the dog. We’ll work with you and your dog to develop a training program to help cut down on aggression and help them feel more comfortable in potentially stressful situations.
